The Style Icon Competition

We've just announced our new competition on our blog:

We've not had a competition for a while and -- as we've just been writing about *Dita Von Teese on another blog -- we thought we'd do one on style icons, past and present. What you need to do is send us your choice of one style icon from the past and one from the present -- and give reasons for your choices. Results to be published here and on the Very Best Things blog. The Prize will be a fabulous little something from our store and the winner will be whoever makes the best argument for her or his style icon choices.

Email us with your choices -- please put 'Icon Competition' in the header

See this blog post for more on the competition

The Letter Box 'Dead Thing' Competition  -- now closed

The poor little thing is dead? To whom or what are we referring? There are 15 letters scattered thoughout the webstore. Put them all together in the correct order, add an apostrophe in the relevant place and come up with the solution to the Dead Thing competition. It's so easy we're not sure why everyone's not doing it. First person to email us the correct answer gets a Mystery Prize. If no one gets it within a reasonable length of time, we might keep giving hints until someone does.

The £100 for 100 Words CompetitionWinner:

Jane from Cardiff!

The winning piece of poetry is on the blog and the prize has already winged it's way to Jane. Check back here or the blogs for announcements of all upcoming competitions.

Competition now closed -- winner to be announced soon!

It's been a while since we set up a competition here, so we thought we'd try something a bit different and ever-so-slightly fiendish...

What we've come up with is the £100 for 100 words competition.

£100 of Larkin & Catcher goodies for the prize-winner -- and no purchase necessary!

Here's all you have to do:

Write a poem -- but not just any old poem...

The poem must be in the style of Christina Rossetti's Goblin Market and the theme should be 'Fashion'.

The word count of the poem must be exactly 100 words (so just not much more than an opening stanza, really)

Send us an email with your entry -- please put the poem in the body of your message (no attachments). Remember to put 'Competition' in the subject line.

Easy-peasy, don't you think? You could practically do it in your sleep.

Entries must reach us on or before Monday 18th August

We judge which poem is best and award the prize. The poem is published on the Larkin & Catcher blog and on the Larkin & Catcher's Very Best Things blog.

This will be the first of a series of £100 for 100 words competitions -- each will have a different theme, and you might be relieved to know that they won't all be poetry-related.
